Tabling @ “The Refugee Hotel”, Segal Theatre, Nov 13, 1pm

(OUR GROUP WILL BE TABLING AT THIS EVENT: NOV 5  20h, NOV 6  13h & 20h, & NOV 13  13h)

Please feel free to invite your friends to come see this important play. It opened to only lukewarm reviews, but Rahul (the artistic director of Teesri Duniya director, with whom I’m on friendly terms) said recently they were working to make a few changes. So by the time we are tabling, it should definitely be at its best.

Teesri Duniya Theatre Company presents

THE REFUGEE HOTEL
A play by Carmen Aguirre
Directed by Paulina Abarca-Cantin
October 27 – November 13, 2016

A dark comedy about exile, love and the Canadian resettlement experience.
Told from the point of view of a young woman looking back on the past, award-winning writer Carmen Aguirre poignantly chronicles the true story of a wave of refugees who are resettled at a small hotel in Montreal in the aftermath of the brutal Chilean coup d’état of 1973, one of the watershed moments of
the Cold War.

There will be talkbacks after every performance.
Presented in English with Spanish-language surtitles.
